Role Description

TrustedOpinion.com (300,000 registered members, Alexa ranking: 30,000) is seeking an exceptional SEO guru looking to step up to a leadership role in a fast-growing start-up. We're looking for a stellar performer who will own our SEO/SEM strategy and execution, leveraging the latest thinking and trends in delivering qualified traffic to our site. The optimal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in SEO Analysis & implementation, SEM, Internet Marketing, SEO-driven Website Architecture, and SEO Keyword Research.

In November 2006, the company was nominated as one of the hottest web2.0 startups. The site was launched to the public in Feb 2007 and has since exceeded 300,000 registered members and continues to grow quickly by 3,000 new users/day.

Responsibilities

The SEO Director has a single, overarching responsibility: Drive qualified traffic to the TrustedOpinion.com website. This goal will be achieved through various means:

  • Leverage the latest strategies and trends in search engine optimization to increase site visitors.
  • Run paid ad campaigns through multiple advertising services, leveraging tools to measure and optimize their success.
  • Work closely with product management to optimize the site design for search engine crawling effectiveness.
  • Responsible for reviewing SEO/SEM performance regularly and optimizing poor performing listings
  • Ongoing research and optimization of keywords.
  • Responsible for setting up and reporting on overall SEO/SEM program success
  • Keep up date knowledge of current SEO/SEM practices; must maintain awareness of various SEO resources

Qualifications

Great candidates will have:
  • Five years experience owning SEO/SEM responsibilities at a site that derives its revenue through consumer traffic.
  • Deep experience with search engine ranking strategies
  • Link Building - Internal, external, High Google PR Backlinking
  • DMOZ/ Google Directory Submission experience
  • Wiki development experience
  • Images SEO practice
  • Experience running big PPC campaigns and PPC optimization
  • A quantitative approach to traffic measurement, and experience with collecting and interpreting site visitor statistics (Webposition, WebTrends, Google Analytics, etc.).
  • Research skills to identify, build, and prioritize essential keyword sets
  • Effective wordsmithing skills for authoring effective ad texts
  • Excellent writing & communication skills
  • Project management experience
  • Efficient, organized, detail oriented.
